Morgan's Mom says:
A cheap quick fix,
I wanted a lightweight, compact vacuum to use every evening after dinner on the kitchen floor. Our regular vac was too bulky to pull out for quick jobs, and we didn’t have a spot to charge a cordless. I settled on the Featherweight because it was small enough to hang from my mop rack and only cost $20.
This vac is ideal for picking up dust and pet hair on wood or tile floors. However, I’ve found that with larger, heavier items (such as spilled dog food), the vac often has to be lifted up over the item and placed right down on top of it in order to pick it up; if I just push the vacuum over dog food, it often just pushes the dog food in front of the vacuum head instead of sucking it up. Removing the vac head and using this as a hand vac works much better for picking up dog food and the like.
I’ve also found that items about the size of a marble (again, spilled dog food) get jammed right behind the plastic shield covering the intake opening of the vac. To remove them I need to jam a stick back there, loosen the item and then pry it out. This is a pain in the neck that I really don’t need.
Finally, there’s no way to clean the dust off the filter without using your bare hands; this vac really needed just a tiny brush that attached to the unit to make dusting off the filter easier and neater. As it is, after every use I need to pull clumps of dog fur off the filter with my bare fingers – yuck!
I think that once this breaks (as I’m sure it will – it’s made of quite junky plastic and doesn’t seem all that durable) I’ll go out and spend a bit more money on a higher quality stick vac. However, for $20 this little cheapie picks up the messes and doesn’t take up too much space.

A “must have”,
This is easy to use and very light weight. It was just what I needed between weekly visits from the wonderful person who actually vacuums for me (I HATE vacuuming with a passion).
I have a cat and a dog and I garden (sloppily) so I needed something like this that I’d actually use. I took it out of the box, assembled it in about a minute (without even having to read the directions) and I cleaned up my kitchen. It pulled up an amazing amout of fur, etc. Now I’m looking for things to clean.
It took me a few trys to get the emptying part down, but it’s easy. Just remove the main unit from the “stick” and empty it over a trash can or empty it over a piece of newspaper on the floor. Since the body is plastic a bit of the fine dust may cling to the outer case, so have a damp paper towel handy to give it a quick exterior wipe. No big deal.
The price is so incredibly reasonable that I bought another one to keep next to the kitty litter box.

It’s Great,
Just what I needed! I’ve been struggling with a handheld vaccuum that cost twice as much that jammed everytime it reached a pile of dirt.
This little vac got up years worth of dust from the corners, cleaned up all my bare floors, scooped up old leaves around the plants, got into tough corners behind stuff
I snapped it together in 30 seconds and away I went!

Its the right filter for my Bissell Lift-off Revolution,
This filter fits my Bissell Lift-off Revolution. This is a post filter, so to check if yours is dirty and ready to be replaced you have to take it out and see if the inside is dirty. If it is, then you need this new replacement filter. These filters are not washable or reuseable, so you have to replace them and toss the old one. I love that my Bissell has this filter on it because it keeps my vacuum from kicking up dust, which means I can dust then vacuum and the room stays clean! My only issues was that the replacement filter took a bit of effort to put in into my vacuum, which is good for the seal so dust does not sneak out, but I think it was harder to get in because it was a bit warped. I think it was an isolated issue with the filter I bought, and it did go in the vacuum and works fine.

Becareful.
When you search for Bissell 8 14, the 1st link that comes up is, “Bissell Style 8/14 Lift-Off Bagless HEPA Filter by Bissell”. However, what you get is a Crucial Vacuum product. If you want the Crucial Vacuum filters, you can get them for $.99 less if you select the link that indicates “by Crucial Vacuum”.

Great vacuum, affordable price,
We had a Dyson vac which worked great … until it broke. Getting it fixed would’ve cost a lot just in shipping. You see, there really are no repair shops in the States for Dyson. So, we threw our $300+ vacuum away after about a year’s use. We bought the Bissell a few months ago. Having just bought a new wool rug that sheds like crazy (easily fills the dirt receptacle twice every time I vacuum). Also, we have a 2 yr old, three dogs (2 boxers, one mix breed puppy) and a cat, so we vac A LOT.
The Bissell is excellent – great suction, multiple tools on-board and a nice detachable section (we don’t have stairs, but if we did this would make cleaning them a breeze). You can turn off the rotating brush, which is great for tile. It’s got a HEPA filter (I mentioned our animals, right?) which makes me feel like our air’s maybe a bit better than it would be. Very happy overall (the bagless system is great, but lost a star as the receptacle could be a little bigger).
